Lafayette Road Construction Project

Lafayette Road Construction is moving along as planned. We anticipate pavement removal to begin within the next couple of weeks. Once the pavement is removed and sub-base installed Midwest Concrete will begin to set forms for the curb and gutter and approach’s to each driveway from east Roosevelt to west Eldene Court representing stage 4 of the project. Midwest Concrete will work with residents within the closures to keep access to their property whenever possible. There will be delays, inconveniences, and ever-changing routes throughout the project. We appreciate the patience of all that travel on Lafayette daily and that have been inconvenienced by the deterioration of the roadway. We are asking in advance for your cooperation and patience during this much-needed project as it will be an inconvenience to all who travel down Lafayette Roadway. Approaches to every property on Lafayette will be replaced with concrete and at times you may not have access to your property, however, we will keep the line of communications open so you will be informed of any phase of the project that will affect you.

In order to continue with construction progress on Lafayette Road the construction crew will be removing all the mailboxes from 4205 – 4619 Lafayette Road. This will be effective March 31, 2025.

Mailboxes will be placed in the back parking lot of Evansdale City Hall located at 123 N Evans Rd.

We will also accept packages that are being delivered by the post office as there will be a point in the construction that packages will not be able to be delivered to your homes. You also have the option to pick your packages up at Waterloo Post Office if you prefer. The carrier will place a pick-up card in your mailbox at Evansdale City Hall.

City Hall hours are from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. if you would like to have your packages delivered here and picked up.

We appreciate your patience with this project. Please contact City Hall with any questions at 319-232-6683.
