Recycling

The City of Evansdale offers a convenient way to recycle without having to leave your home.  Place a City of Evansdale designated recycle cart on the curb every other Friday.

You may request a recycle cart by calling Rite Environmental at 319-235-7401 

Please place your recycle cart at the curb at least three feet from your garbage cart or other objects such as your mailbox. 

What you can recycle:
Please rinse out all containers.

PLASTICS
Plastics are identified by numbers 1 through 7. Usually located on the bottom of the package, this number is code for the specific type of plastic you’re holding.

CARDBOARD
ALL cardboard, corrugated cardboard & chipboard (eg. toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls, macaroni boxes, cereal boxes, back of note paper pads).

PAPER PRODUCTS
Newspapers, Magazines, Junk Mail, Office & Shredded Paper, (please place in a paper bag) Telephone Books

TIN CANS

What you CANNOT recycle:
Oil and Antifreeze Containers

Batteries

Aerosol Cans

Foam Containers eg. coffee cups

Plastic Bags

Glass of any kind

Styrofoam
